Over the 5 days together, we will be adapting to the environment, establishing directions, aligning, motivating and inspiring. In other words, wallowing in leadership and the outcomes it delivers.
Day I: Where are we?
Learning the basics of shepherding, observing the environment, testing the terrain, sensing i.e. listening to, seeing what, feeling how everything is around us.
Day II: Where do we want to be and why?
Where do the sheep need to graze and why? And remembering to take into account both the vision and the context so as to be in the right place, at the right time and with the right behavior.
Day III: Pacing and Leading
Ongoing communication is key when leading sheep from where they are to where they need to be. We will be exploring the basics of sound stockmanship i.e. the art and science of herding animals.
Day IV: Off we go !
Whoever now feels comfortable enough with the idea of herding will be invited to herd by themselves. Using the skills they have acquired and insights they have gained, they will lead the flock.
Day V: Off we go again !
Another day of pacing and leading the flock!
When the day is done and the programme completed, we will be gathering to share our perspectives, trigger insights from our five days together on the hills above Saint-Martial.
