This is my first experiment in keeping the sheep in one place for a day with herding.
I chose an old lavender field with some forest areas (about 3ha).
The sheep are not used to stay in one place for the day, they like to keep moving.
I documented it on video.
The conclusion is: I shouldn’t have let them out. It was very hard to get them back into their pasture and there would have been enough forage left.
C’est mon premier essai de tenir les brebis dans un espace fixe pendant une journée de garde. C’était 3ha. Les brebis ne sont pas habituées de rester sur place elles aiment bien bouger.
La conclusion de la journée : j’aurais dû les tenir dans la surface prévue car c’ était très difficile de les remettre.
